It was a wet year and we didn’t see many hot days, but the views were still wonderful, the hikes amazing, and the camping always fun. Here are some of our favorite summer adventures in David Thompson Country for 2019.
- Whitewater Rafting with Hunter Valley Adventures on the Red Deer River in the southern end of Clearwater County.
2. The view of Rosie’s Delight downhill trail at Baseline Mountain with the Baseline Mountain Biking Club.
3. Riding Wildhorse Flats with JKL Trail Rides.
4. Hiking with Pursuit Adventures in the Thompson Creek Area.
5. Canoeing and kayaking on Twin Lakes in the Crimson Lake Provincial Park with the Rocky Canoe Club.
6. Flying into some beautiful but hard to reach places with Rockies Heli near Nordegg.
7. Climbing Mountains with Frontier Lodge.
8. Canoeing and rappelling with HeLa Ventures.
9. Riding across the Bighorn River with Western Wilderness Adventures.
10. Learning to mountain climb with Goldeye Centre.
11. Hiking to Kinglet Lake with Blackstone RMH Tours.
12. Camping at the Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site.
13. And for Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County, hosting over 1,000 athletes in over a dozen sports for the 2019 Alberta Masters Games was an amazing and wonderful adventure! Congratulations to all the athletes, the volunteers, and the organizers for putting on such a wonderful event!
